Masthead ideas for my school magazine

These are my ideas for a masthead I created these ideas in Fireworks. I made quite a variety so that I have a range of choices. They are all brightly coloured as I figured this would catch my audiences attention. They all have some sort of an outline helping it project the masthead more as the masthead is on of the most most important conventions of a magazine. The masthead needs to instantly be recognised by any audience. However I do think that capital letters help build an effective masthead. I think I may use the masthead Rumour but change it slightly too suit my house style and use all capital letters.

Ideas for pictures for magazine-

Ideas for pictures for magazine:

  • Pupils- A pupil working at a desk will connotate students are all hard workers and will all come out of Plantsbrook school with really good results due to it being outstanding. An image of a pupil in a science lab taken with a medium close up would be interesting.
  • Teachers- This will show the parents what the teachers look like that teach their children. The appearance of the teacher will show a lot to the parents such as whether they are smart meaning they take their job seriously. Possibly an image of a teacher on a computer- medium close up.
  • Location- Will just give the audience an understanding as to where the school is located. Wide shot/extreme wide shot.
  • School- This is the environment that the students work in. this will be interesting to the audience because it will show whether the school is clean and organised, this will reflect the learning of the pupils helping my audience decide whether they will bring their child to Plantsbrook School. Wide shot/Extreme wide shot.
  • Books- Just to show the learning resources that we have to provide for the students of Plantsbrook. This would be put into my magazine purely because it shows knowledge and is linked to school and education. Close up, this could show that the books are significant to all pupils education at Plantsbrook.
  • Lessons- This will show the environment that the pupils are taught in, this will be interesting in the school magazine as the audience can base their feeling and thoughts of the school on how this image is presented.
  • An image of friends- This would show that the school isn't all about the education and its about having fun as well, the pupils will be smiling or pulling a silly face, more of an informal photo.
These would be good images for the school magazine as they are greatly associated with the school.
